Glamping. Like Camping, Only Better

The irresistible new travel trend that will have you leaving civilisation, stuffy hotels and your worries behind.

Guide to Glamping for Seniors

Do you love to holiday in luxury and style, yet long for the days of campfires and bush tucker? Introducing ‘glamping’ – the perfect way to be at one with nature without compromising your creature comforts...

What is glamping?

Say goodbye to wet, wind- blown tents and sleeping on the cold bumpy ground. Say hello to ‘glamping’ – camping with a glamorous, luxury twist. Glamping can be what you make it, there’s a style for everyone.

Think modern, private bathrooms. Crisp white sheets. And perhaps temperature control at your fingertips. Or your own dressed-up campervan, styled with additions like fairy lights, roll out rugs and throw cushions.

You can now find an array of glamping options across Australia for all ages and  levels of mobility. If you prize convenience and comfort, an opulent campervan or cabin could be for you. Or if you’re feeling adventurous, a five-star treehouse or safari tent may be the answer.

Get moving

With so many hours spent indoors, it can be easy to forget the simple joys of adventure and activity. A glamping trip can provide the perfect excuse to get your heart pumping again.

Relax and unwind

Do you sometimes feel tense for no apparent reason? Fresh air, sunshine and nature are proven ways to break up the monotony of daily life.

Enjoy quality sleep

The light from your TV, phone or computer screen can confuse your biological clock. Give your body the good night’s sleep it needs away from the city and technology.

How to find a perfect glamping site

With a growing number of glamping sites across Australia, the hardest decision is working out where to go. You may prefer a short drive getaway, a longer roadtrip – or perhaps interstate travel.

You also need to think about your preferred type of outdoor area. Mountain, valley, ocean, river or forest? If you perform a simple Google search using words such as ‘glamping, ocean, Victoria’, you’ll be presented with many options. Of course, if you have your heart set on a specific location, just enter words such as ‘glamping, Blue Mountains’ instead.

What to pack

Because all glamping sites offer varying levels of luxury and facilities, we recommend calling your chosen site and asking what you need to bring. Who knows, you may only need to pack clothing, toiletries and snacks.
