I love travel, international architecture, museums and food. I don’t let my disease stop me from doing what I want to do. Alaska, Canada, Malaysia, Japan and New Zealand are just some of the places I have visited with my Support Worker.
Together with my friend, I design and build gadgets for my wheelchair. I also enjoy building computers.
With four shifts a day, great conversation and a good laugh are important to me so I look for experienced Support Workers with a good sense of humour.
As far as the NDIS is concerned, I’m quite happy with the services that Home Care Experts by Calvary is providing me and I intend to continue letting them manage that for me. I’m a firm believer of the saying 'if it’s not broken, don’t fix it'.
When selecting an NDIS provider I would suggest thinking about:
• How quick and flexible can they respond to the changing needs of the client?
• Can the provider provide a support service for clients wishing to travel?
• What rostering system do they use?
